How To Be More Effective With Google Adwords
There are some insider secrets to using Google Adwords that can make a huge difference in your ROI - they may even make the difference between being profitable and losing money.
The first thing you need to do is ensure you’re targeting the right audience with your ads. Make your ads as exclusive as possible, including the language they’re written in (it should be the same one your target audience speaks).
Another important factor is to make sure your keywords are refined as much as possible. One technique for this is to place square brackets around your keywords - [keyword]. This is called an exact match keyword and will ensure your ad only gets displayed when someone types in that exact keyword in Google.
If they search for something that includes your keyword in the phrase but has additional words, your ad won’t be displayed. This can help reduce your costs for visitors that are not well targeted.
You should always have more than one ad running, performing a split test to see which one gets the best results. Once you know which one gets the best clickthrough and conversion rate, remove the lower producing one and replace it with yet another variation. Always be testing.
Once your clickthrough is at an acceptable level, you also need to be sure you’re tracking your return on investment (ROI). Adwords doesn’t have the ability to do this in itself, but it can when you add Google Analytics to the mix.
It only tracks clickthrough rates for you. You can get a special code to attach to your ads to track the actual purchases made through that ad’s being clicked.
Always include your keywords and search phrases in your title and your ad description. Google highlights these for you as your ad appears on a webpage, helping your ads to be more attractive to your targeted audience.
